Single collaborative work environment improves workflow processes for significant productivity gains and optimizes scarce resources across oilfield assets

April 20, 2006, HOUSTON, Texas – Halliburton’s (NYSE: HAL) Digital and Consulting Solutions (DCS) Division recently opened the industry’s first completely integrated and fully digital Real Time Decision Center (RTDC). This new state-of-the-art facility enables a new level of collaboration by breaking down the silos between traditional visualization and operation centers and brings all the hardware, software and people into one place for effective decision-making.

“Halliburton has a long history of technological breakthroughs and industry firsts,” said Peter Bernard, Halliburton Digital and Consulting Solutions. “We’ve led the movement toward the digital oilfield of the future, and today we’re helping the industry take another giant step forward as we unveil another first.

“The Real Time Decision Center has cutting-edge technologies, along with elements that are mainstays at most oil and gas companies,” Bernard continued. “But the Real Time Decision Center isn’t just about technology. It’s about helping people to work more efficiently and to make better-informed decisions. The RTDC is designed to be one of the most fully used, multi-functional centers at our customers’ sites – a work space that will increase productivity and allow them to operate more profitably in today’s booming market.”

Previous indicators show that some customers experience up to a tenfold improvement in productivity when asset teams can collaborate in a common environment; and, early adopters of real-time monitoring indicate cost savings in the 35 percent to 50 percent range. These are compelling figures that could have an immediate positive impact on any size organization.

To further strengthen the RTDC offer, Halliburton has collaborated with leading technology and services companies -- such as Intel®, Silicon Graphics, Inc., NetApp, Hewlett-Packard, and Cyviz – to deliver customized, turnkey RTDC solutions to the industry.
