npower staff have donated 30 cuddly toy football mascots to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice at Normanby.

npower, sponsors of the npower Football League, asked staff to vote for a good cause this Christmas – and more than 700 of chose Zoe’s Place from a selection of charities nationwide.

npower head of sponsorship Emma Collins said: "A number of our npower Football League clubs had sent us cuddly toy mascots. Our staff wanted them to go to a good home, and bring joy to some little lives.

“The vote for Zoe’s Place in Middlesbrough was overwhelming. We hope the children love the npower toy donation.”

Zoe’s Place Baby Hospices are the only baby specific hospices in the country. They are a home from home for babies who have life-limiting or terminal illnesses. The hospices only receive limited Government funding.

A spokesperson for Zoe’s Place, Crossbeck House, High Street, said: “What a marvellous gesture. And just in time for Christmas. Everyone here would like to thank npower’s staff for thinking of us.”
