(OTC: MTNA) Gets Strong Interest from International Railroads

(CybeRelease, April 20, 2006) - Lake Harmony, PA - Material Technologies, Inc.’s (OTC BB: MTNA) (“MATECH”) announced that it has received very strong interest from worldwide railroad organizations concerning its patented Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor (EFS) system.

Material Technologies (Matech) recently announced that it has received very strong interest from worldwide railroad organizations. Railroads, both domestic and international, are always challenged by maintaining assets that are constantly subjected to very heavy fatigue loads. These repeated loadings are well known and documented to cause cracking in metal components. The primary interest in Matech results from its patented Eletrochemical Fatigue Sensor (EFS) system, which can detect actively growing cracks.

In addition to being the only known practical technology to detect growing cracks, EFS can detect growing cracks as small as 0.01 inches - much smaller than any other practical inspection system. These EFS attributes make it very desirable for railroad applications.
