Linde North America and TestAmerica Team Set Guinness World Record

WEBWIRE

Linde North America, Inc., by working in collaboration with TestAmerica, is now recognized as a Guinness World Record holder. The category: Development of a calibration standard that produces the greatest number of separate chemical components in a single gas mixture. The pioneering 110-component calibration gas mixture standard was designed and engineered for TestAmerica Laboratories, Inc. The standard is currently used by TestAmerica’s Austin, Texas laboratory for the identification and quantitation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in air samples.

The calibration standard, part of Linde’s HiQ® specialty gases range, is used to identify and confirm the presence of over one hundred VOCs in indoor and ambient air samples. The complexity and sophistication of the calibration gas mixture standard allows for the evaluation of probable component interaction, mixture stability, and manufacturing of a final gas mixture with precision.

“Linde’s recent development provides TestAmerica the capability to analyze for compounds of interest in air samples with one analytical standard. This significantly reduces the time for set up and calibration of our own laboratory instruments, which enhances our capacity and efficiency,” offered William Elcoate, TestAmerica’s Air Product Director.
