Unity Bank Names Vianela Campbell Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer

WEBWIRE

(Clinton, NJ, December 8, 2010) – Unity Bank, headquartered in Clinton, N.J., is pleased to announce the appointment of Vianela Campbell to the position of Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer. Campbell will assume responsibility for commercial lending operations for businesses served by the North Plainfield, Linden, Colonia, Union and Springfield branches.

Most recently, Campbell served as Senior Small Business Specialist for Sovereign/Santander Bank where she developed and managed business account portfolios in northern and central New Jersey. Prior to that, she held several management positions at other financial institutions including TD Bank North and PNC Bank.

Campbell stated, “I am pleased to be working in the type of office culture where people are customer-focused and there is very high employee morale. It’s both unusual and refreshing in today’s banking environment. Unity Bank has all of the services of the larger commercial banks, the difference is that we can be more flexible with terms and rates in commercial lending. As a smaller community bank, we also have more autonomy on the Branch level and immediate access to the decision makers. That can make all the difference in the world to the commercial customer who is waiting on a loan determination.”

A graduate of Queens College in New York, Campbell earned a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Management and Finance. She currently resides in Cranford, NJ with her family.

Unity Bank President and Chief Executive Officer, James A. Hughes, commented, “We are fortunate to have Vianela on our commercial lending team. With more than 20 years in banking, she has the knowledge and experience we were looking for to develop and service our commercial loan accounts in the communities served by our North Plainfield, Linden, Colonia, Union and Springfield branches.”

Unity Bank has branches in Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, Union and Warren counties in New Jersey, and Northampton County in Pennsylvania. The bank began as First Community Bank in 1991 with two branches and thirty employees. It now has over one hundred and sixty employees.
