Broadway vet and Glee star Lea Michele will receive the first-ever “Triple Threat” Award at the 2010 Billboard Women in Music Event on December 2 in New York. Michele will be honored alongside Billboard’s Woman of the Year, Black Eyed Peas vocalist Fergie, and Jazmine Sullivan, who is receiving the Rising Star Award.

“I’m so excited!” Michele told Billboard.com of receiving the new honor, which recognizes excellence in acting, singing and dancing. “At work, we have a nickname for Matt Morrison—we call him ’Triple Threat,’ because he’s an incredible singer-dancer-actor. And now I get to borrow that phrase, which is really cool.”

In announcing the award, Billboard noted that Michele and her Glee castmates broke the Beatles’ Hot 100 record in October for the most appearances among non-solo acts in the chart’s 52-year history. “Whenever we’re not filming, we’re in the recording studio, or the dance studio,” Michele said. “It takes a lot to put together this show each week, so to get this specific award that honors all of those three things is so amazing.”
