SES WORLD SKIES’ NSS-9 satellite enables connectivity in Central and Eastern Siberia

Utilizing 36MHz of C-band capacity and the West Hemi beam aboard SES WORLD SKIES’ NSS-9 satellite, VimpelCom gains the opportunity to significantly increase the volume of these services in Russia’s Eastern Siberia and Far East. Moreover, SES WORLD SKIES` NSS-9 will help to increase the capacity of VimpelCom’s Beeline`s satellite network on Russian satellites, and will provide for the active development of its mobile network in the regions using Russian Express satellites.

NSS-9 is an all C-band satellite featuring three beams that can be interconnected on a transponder-by-transponder basis: a global beam providing coverage of the entire earth visible from 183° East; a West Hemi beam covering Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, China, Korea and the Pacific Islands; and an East Hemi beam providing coverage and connectivity to the U.S., Hawaii and Polynesia.
