Harris Corporation Awarded $15 Million IT Services Contract for Air Force Software Development

WASHINGTON, DC - Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has been competitively awarded a $15 million contract, including one base year and a one-year option, by the U.S. Air Force for its Headquarters Air Force Information Management Enterprise Business Solutions Software Development Services Support program under the Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle.

Under the contract, the Harris team will deliver technical services to the software development support project. These services include program requirements management, process engineering, and systems administration, and will be based on proven IT methodologies and frameworks. This follow-on contract continues the work started under previous competitive awards for this program, including a $7 million contract in January of this year.

The Harris team consists of Avande, ATS Corporation, Capability Plus Solutions, Inc. and IndigoIT.

The Information Management Enterprise Business Solutions group supports senior decision-makers, including the Secretary of the Air Force, the Air Force Staff and other Air Force organizations within the National Capital Region. Harris has supported the program since June of 2007. The NETCENTS contract is a five-year $9 billion acquisition initiative that delivers interoperability and the constant evolution of best-in-class technology and solutions to the Air Force, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies.
