AT&T Receives TL 9000 Quality Certifications for National Data Operations Serving Enterprise Customers
Bedminster, New Jersey, April 13, 2006, AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that three key customer network services provided by its National Data Operations organization have been certified as compliant with the international standards required for TL 9000 certification, a globally recognized standard used by the telecommunications industry. AT&T’s National Data Operations provides planning, staging and outsourced management of voice, data and video networks for enterprise customers.
TL 9000 is the telecommunication industry’s quality system standard that expands the requirements of the International Standards Organization’s ISO 9000 quality management standard in use by industries worldwide. The TL 9000 standard was developed and is administered by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. TL 9000 is the world’s first industry-specific standard to define requirements for quality management systems and provide members with a set of performance-based measurements used in determining “best in class” performance rankings for industry products and services.
The TL 9000 certification emphasizes AT&T’s commitment to customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and accountability for performance. Achieving TL 9000 certification validates to customers that the services provided by AT&T are based on:
- Quality-management systems designed to improve customer service and satisfaction.
- Quality-measurement systems to gather and measure quality and performance data.
- A commitment to providing product/service quality and customer value through a focus on cycle-time reductions, on-time deliveries, return rates, reliability and defect elimination.
- Demonstrating AT&T’s accountability and focus on continual improvement.
- Establishing a foundation on which to gauge AT&T’s performance in the marketplace through industry benchmarks for TL 9000 measurements.
“Enterprise customers are putting an increasing focus on quality service — and TL 9000 certification provides an independent third-party validation that AT&T has implemented and maintained an effective quality-management system,” said Fred Taylor, president, AT&T National Data Operations. “With these TL 9000 certifications, enterprise customers can be confident that AT&T’s management of their voice, IP telephony, data and CPE network integration needs meet the industry-recognized standards. We look forward to participating in the bid process for enterprise projects where TL 9000 certification is required.”
