Big winners of 2010 Dabs Diamond Awards announced

This year’s dabs.com Diamond Awards, hosted by comedian Jimmy Carr, honoured some of the biggest names in home and business technology including Microsoft, HP and Sony during a star-studded ceremony at Manchester’s Palace Hotel.

Online computers and electronics retailer dabs.com has recently held its annual awards ceremony showcasing some of the leading companies in the computing field and recognising the very best as voted for by the users of dabs.com’s website.

The event, held at the luxurious Palace Hotel in the heart of Manchester, was attended by many companies and industry representatives, all hoping to walk away with one of the prestigious awards for categories such as “Best Manufacturer of Laptops and Desktops” and “Best Software Manufacturer”. Awards were presented by CEO John Thornhill and consumer director Helen Slinger across 10 categories.

The awards were preceded by a performance from award winning stand-up comedian and TV personality Jimmy Carr who also hosted the awards and posed for photos with the winners.

Consumer director Helen Slinger commented: “This year’s awards were a huge success with many of the popular brands sold on the dabs.com site being duly recognised for their products.

“Our excellent comedian Jimmy Carr kept everyone in high spirits and the various sponsored features including a cocktail bar provided by CablesToGo, and casino games of blackjack and Roulette provided by Crucial Memory, helped ensure a good night was had by all.”

With industry names such as Sony, Samsung, Kingston, HP and Logitech being recognised on the night, their contributions to dabs.com’s success was rewarded in front of a large crowd.

- Best Memory Manufacturer – Kingston
- Best Manufacturer of components – Intel
- Best storage Manufacturer - Western Digital
- Best Manufacturer of displays – Samsung

Dabs.com continues to sell these as well as many other computing and home entertainment brands via the website and has recently added a HP Pavilion Computers Store section to the site, allowing visitors to easily browse HP’s range of laptops, netbooks and desktop computers.

The awards come towards the end of a great year for dabs.com, a year which has seen the company cater more towards business customers while at the same time expand within the consumer market where it is known for providing quality products at great prices.
