New U.S. Series “Glory Daze” To Premiere In The UK On E4 Via Deal With Channel 4 Television And Warner Bros. International Television Distribution

London, UK and Burbank, CA – E4 has secured the UK broadcast rights to the new U.S. series “Glory Daze,” starring Tim Meadows (“Saturday Night Live”), in a deal with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution. The announcement was made today by Acting Head of Acquisitions at Channel 4, Penny Harris, and Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. International Television.

Created by Walt Becker (“Wild Hogs”) and Michael LeSieur (“You,” “Me and Dupree”) and featuring a talented ensemble cast, the 10X60 series is a fresh and sharply written one-hour comedy set in 1980s Wisconsin. “Glory Daze” centers on a group of friends trying to navigate college life as they sort out new challenges – including pledging a fraternity – and discover how tricky the next few years are going to be. It’s never been a better time to get a whole new – and hilarious – perspective on college life in the ’80s.

“‘Glory Daze’ was one of the surprise hits of the screenings,” said Schlesinger. “People from every country found it hysterical. We think it is perfectly suited for the E4 audience and are certain that it will have audiences in the UK laughing from beginning to end.”

Penny Harris says, “We’re incredibly excited that ‘Glory Daze’ is joining E4’s fresh slate of comedy drama offerings: It highlights the channel’s commitment to delivering the best the U.S. has to offer for our very discerning audiences. ‘Glory Daze’ is warm, uproariously funny with universally recognizable characters at its heart. Think ‘The Inbetweeners’: boys and what they would have been doing at an American college in the ’80s, and you’re pretty much there.”

“Glory Daze” will make its UK debut on E4 in 2011. In the U.S., the series premieres on 16 November at 10 p.m. ET/PT on TBS. Creators Becker and LeSieur serve as executive producers. The series, from Warner Horizon Television, stars a talented ensemble cast of Kelly Blatz (“Aaron Stone”), Josh Brener (“The Condom Killer”), Matt Bush (“Adventureland”), Chris D’Elia (“Monk”), James Earl (“Glee”), Julianna Guill (“My Alibi”), Tim Jo (“Greek”), Callard Harris (“Sons of Anarchy”), Drew Seeley (“Another Cinderella Story”), Hartley Sawyer (“Killian”) and comedy veteran Tim Meadows (“Saturday Night Live”).
