WEBWIRE

(Thu, April 27, 2006 Alexandria, VA)
Considered to be the catalyst in turning around the once declining Del Ray neighborhood, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub is celebrating its 10 year anniversary with 3 days of live music and local art for sale. The celebration will kick off with the fantastic Not So Modern Jazz Band and New Zealand’s own pop standard singer “Ram”. The celebration continues on Friday, April 28 with a nod to the kiddies. “Mister Don”, local award winning singer Don Bridges, will perform interactive children’s music, sing-a longs with marching & dancing. Friday evening contemporary folk vocalist Laura Baron performs… “the voice you need to hear.” The celebration culminates on Saturday with an outdoor concert and art show from 12pm to 4pm.

From the start Nora Partlow and her former business partner Scott Mitchell wanted her business to be more than just about money. St. Elmo’s was planned to be an integral part of the community, collecting money, toys, school supplies for needy charities, hosting political meet and greets with local politicians, providing space for girl scouts to sell cookies and supporting the Campagna Center After School program. St. Elmo’s also supports local musicians and artists, offering a venue to perform and sell their wares.
