October 5, 2010 – Buena Park, Calif., – Shelly BMW of Orange County in Buena Park confirms, BMW has introduced an automotive first: A new Mobile Office feature for drivers.
BMW’s new Mobile Office concept includes BMW’s Navigation system and certain BlackBerry smartphones that are linked to BMW vehicles via Bluetooth® technology. The feature will allow drivers to have a Mobile Office in their vehicles.
“This is great feature that will enhance a professional’s life,” said Shelly BMW General Manager, Darren Richie. “The different tools will allow drivers the flexibility to multi-task and save time in the comfort of their vehicle,” he said.
Certain features include transfer text messages and emails to the iDrive Display screen, which is then read aloud. A Calendar and To-do List can appear on the display screen, which will help drivers keep track of appointments.
Drivers will also be able to conduct conference calls, as a display screen will help drivers become informed of the status of incoming calls.
The new media player functionality will allow iPods or iPhones to use the original USB cable, and access their entire audio Music may be played wirelessly through the BMW audio system from any Bluetooth compatible music player or mobile phone from anywhere in the vehicle.
