TestAmerica’s Dr. Charlie Carter Receives Prestigious 2010 AEESP Publication Award

Dr. Charlie Carter, Vice President of Quality & Technical Services, is the recipient of the 2010 Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP) Outstanding Publication Award. The award was presented at the annual AEESP ceremony on October 4, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The award bestowed upon Dr. Charlie Carter and his Graduate School Professor, Dr. Mel Suffet, cited the 1982 publication: C.W. Carter, and I. H. Suffet. (1982) Binding of DDT to dissolved humic materials. Environmental Science & Technology, 16:735-740. The AEESP confirms the paper being cited in peer reviewed literature over 500 times. The nomination was provided by Dr. Joel Pedersen, Associate Professor of the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The AEESP gives an annual award to “recognize the author(s) of a landmark environmental engineering and science paper that has withstood the test of time and significantly influenced the practice of environmental engineering and science.” Since 1983, the AEESP have given 26 previous awards.
