Ultraviolet Germicidal Technology Helps Prevent the Spread of Deadly Infections caused by C. diff

Health concerns associated with Clostridium difficile (C. diff) have received increased attention from government agencies, healthcare providers and the general public. C. diff is a bacterium that causes Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD): a serious intestinal infection. According to an article in the May 2009 issue of American Journal of Infection Control, a survey of 648 medical facilities revealed a C. diff. infection rate of thirteen out of every one thousand inpatients. These stunning rates were approximately 20 times higher than previous estimates.
