Irvine BMW Confirms, BMW Announces Markets For BMW ActiveE Field Trial In Southern California

September 27, 2010 – Irvine, Calif. – Irvine BMW confirms, BMW has announced that the BMW ActiveE field trial will begin in summer 2011.
The Greater Los Angeles Area will play a key role in the trial. As will Southern California, the metropolitan market of San Diego that will be included, as well as Northern California where the BMW ActiveE field trial will take place in Greater San Francisco and Sacramento areas.
“I believe this trial will assist BMW in gaining great insight into living with an electric vehicle,” said Irvine BMW’s General Manager, Steve Rudkin. “We’re excited that our Southern California drivers will be critical to the evaluation of the vehicle,” he said.
The BMW ActiveE field trial will build on the success and experience gained during the MINI E field trial, now in its second year. Experience gained in this second-phase trial will prepare the BMW Group for the launch of its purpose-designed Megacity Vehicle in 2013.
