WORKPLACE equipment provider Slingsby has supplied the UK’s best known department store, Harrods with a bespoke range of its famous trolleys to keep the store operating smoothly.

The Knightsbridge retailer has taken delivery of a range of new platform trucks, painted in the retailer’s ’Harrods Green’ corporate colour, that will be used by its employees to transport storage boxes and stock items throughout the store.

Slingsby, which has a long-standing relationship with Harrods and supplies the company with all types of products, was established in 1893 after Harry Crowther Slingsby designed and created a range of robust trucks and trolleys to move heavy loads horizontally around large buildings.

Since then Slingsby has gone on to build a range of more than 35,000 workplace products, that are available through its catalogue and website, but the company still remains famous as a leading supplier of manual handling equipment.

Lee Wright, Marketing Director of Slingsby, explains: “Harrods is renowned for offering top quality products and excellent service levels to give customers an unforgettable experience and the company always insists on buying the best equipment on the market in order to maintain these standards.

“Our trucks are based on a design that we have been modifying and improving for more than 100 years and the ones we’ve supplied to Harrods are amongst the best in our range. They offer a 600kg capacity, are very easy to manoeuvre and stand on rubber tyres which makes them extremely quiet. When you add the specialist paintwork, which demonstrates the attention that Harrods pays to detail, I’m sure these trolleys will prove to be a great asset to the store.”
