Leading law firm takes the fast track with Kcom

Michelmores gains accelerated network for improved performance and productivity

London, UK - Michelmores, a leading law firm with offices in Exeter, London and Sidmouth, has turned to long term communications partner, Kcom, part of the KCOM Group, to upgrade its voice and data network. As well as enhanced connectivity, the law firm now has an improved disaster recovery system in place which would greatly reduced the time needed to recover vital data and applications in the unlikely event of the IT systems failing.

Michelmores, which was voted ‘UK Regional Law Firm of the Year’ at the 2009 British Legal Awards, has worked with Kcom for just over a year and approached them when, due to the success of their business the firm needed greater network bandwidth. Kcom implemented a highly flexible MPLS network which has provided Michelmores with a 260% increase in bandwidth but assured scalability for any future changes in bandwidth demand. In addition to this enhanced availability, Kcom’s solution has reduced the time it takes to log in to the network and accelerated the speed of centrally hosted applications, improving employee productivity.

With the increased network capability, video conferencing quality and performance has improved allowing for enhanced collaboration between the offices, saving time and travel costs. In addition a new customer relationship management (CRM) system is due to be implemented in order to assist staff in delivering an even better customer experience.
