Community Aid Relief & Development (CoAid) Launch Vehicle Donation Program
LITTLETON, CO August 26th, 2010 – Community Aid Relief and Development (www.coaid.org) announced today their “Donate My Ride” program, a way for anyone in USA to donate their vehicles to help communities affected by conflict and natural disaster.
“This new program will help us raise funds for our important humanitarian work,” said Steve Neill, President of CoAid. “The program allows anyone to donate their unwanted cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, airplanes, heavy equipment, or farm machinery. The vehicle doesn’t even need to be running, we can pick-up in any state, and the donor gets a tax benefit. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
The CoAid “Donate My Ride” program is managed by V-DAC (Vehicle Donations to Any Charity), a California-based company that has been managing car donation programs for over 2,500 charities since 2002.
“We wanted to provide our supporters an easy, turn-key vehicle donation program that will turn any car, truck, boat or RV into cash and deliver us a high percent of the net proceeds,” said Neill. “We chose V-DAC because of their good reputation and high-returns to non-profits. On average they pay-out up to 78% of net profits from a vehicle sale.”
CoAid, a relatively new relief and development organization is currently trying to get a vehicle for its work in Haiti.
“The idea for starting a vehicle donation program came about after I returned from Haiti last week,” said Neill. “We desperately need a vehicle in Haiti. It’s not a problem for larger NGO’s to pay up to $150 a day to rent a 4WD truck. For us, this is not a viable option. As my thoughts turned towards getting a vehicle, I realized we need to start this type of program in an effort to raise additional funds.”
