The Printhouse Printers Plymouth Celebrate 20 Years of Trading

The PrintHouse first opened its doors to serve the people of Plymouth and the surrounding area 20 years ago, on September 1st 1990. We asked Brian Dalton the proprietor of The PrintHouse Printers Plymouth, http://www.printers-plymouth.co.uk, to think back to those heady days and recall what his original objectives were.

“Well”, said Brian, “Our primary aim was to provide high quality print and design whilst attempting to keep the costs at affordable levels.”

“Originally we had a high street location with a range of auxiliary services, such as bulk photocopying, colour copying etc., but as our customers grew and obtained increasingly good in-house facilities of their own; we decided to concentrate on mainstream printing and design, where our particular expertise lay.”

Asked about the changes the industry has seen over the last twenty years, Brian had this to say - "During the twenty years of our existence the printing world has seen major changes, one of the oldest precision industries remains one of the most exciting.

Computer design with the latest graphics and word layout software has radically altered the design scope available to even quite modest businesses, while the lower production cost of digital printing has led to full colour print runs - for advertising flyers for example - to be within the reach of everyone. (Typically 5000 double sided full colour flyers for a total cost of about £100)"

And as to the future of The Printhouse Printers Plymouth? “Ideally we have always liked to establish a close working relationship with our customers, offering them a full range of services (No request too large or small) to meet all their printing needs, meaning that they can get on with running their own businesses safe in the knowledge that they will never need to worry about their printing. That has served us for the last twenty years, why change now?”
