EAGAN, Minn. - Thomson Reuters and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) announced a co-publishing agreement today to develop and market legal materials designed for criminal defense lawyers. The new imprint is tentatively titled NACDL Press.

Under the arrangement, legal professionals will receive insightful analysis of the ever-changing issues within the criminal defense practice area from distinguished NACDL authors and experts through publications and events.

“By teaming up with NACDL we gain new opportunities to showcase criminal law expertise,” said Sharon Shofner-Meyer, senior director, Print Strategy, Thomson Reuters, Legal. “A formal, co-publishing relationship with a prestigious organization like NACDL represents an important part of the future of legal print publishing.”

“NACDL and West have had a longstanding relationship and this continues that effort in an important way,” said Norman Reimer, executive director, NACDL. “We’ll be developing content that will be based on feedback from our members on the issues they work with every day, including sentencing, Internet crimes and white collar crimes.”

NACDL President Cynthia Hujar Orr added, “As the NACDL enters its 52nd year, I feel a great deal of pride that the association is taking its education mission to the next logical step. This new publishing venture will assure that criminal practice materials are written and edited by criminal defense lawyers for criminal defense lawyers.”
