WEBWIRE

04/03/2006, The world’s leader in ultrafine polyamide powders, Arkema has announced a 40% capacity increase of its Orgasol® production at its Mont plant in France (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
Arkema is committed to heeding market trends to meet its customers’ growing demand. This latest decision, following on from the Orevac® functional polyolefins capacity increase, demonstrates Arkema’s commitment to continue consolidating the production plants at its Mont facility around specialty products with a high development potential.
The corresponding investments will be made in two stages, the first due to start in May 2006, and the second in February 2007.
Produced by direct polymerization using an Arkema exclusive process, Orgasol® ultrafine polyamide powders feature a very narrow particle size distribution, centered between 5 and 60 microns depending on the grades. They boast a large number of coating applications in equally diverse markets, ranging from automobile, aerospace, furniture and flooring, to the production of inks and varnishes, the treatment of paper, and cosmetics manufacture.
A global chemical player, Arkema consists of 3 coherent and balanced business segments: Vinyl Products, Industrial Chemicals, and Performance Products. Present in over 40 countries with 18,600 employees*, Arkema achieves sales of 5.2 billion euros*. With its 6 research centers in France, the United States and Japan, and internationally recognized brands, Arkema holds leadership positions in its principal markets.
