CARY, NC - As organizations face increasingly diverse issues, growing regulations and global competition, analytical practitioners are challenged to deliver answers. A2010 attendees will find inspiration from how others have solved problems and learn about the latest technologies and methodologies in analytics. With the right analytical approach, decision makers can understand not only what happened, but why now? What if trends continue? What’s next? What’s the best that can happen?

SAS, the leader in business analytics software and services, hosts A2010 Sept. 2-3 in Copenhagen. Industry experts, thought leaders and practitioners will gather to explore critical areas of analytics, including data mining, text mining, forecasting, optimization, statistical analysis and data visualization. Offerings include 11 hands-on, pre-conference, technical training courses. A reception at Copenhagen City Hall and a guided tour around Copenhagen Harbor, inside Rosenborg Castle, or through Copenhagen’s old streets will welcome attendees on Sept. 1.

“A2010 is a fantastic opportunity for practitioners to gain the latest on technologies and methodologies, network with colleagues, and bring their toughest questions to technical experts and industry visionaries,” said Jens Olivarius, Director of Marketing Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa at SAS. “Analytics are the key to revealing competitive insights that are often hidden in data. Such capabilities as forecasting, predictive modeling and optimization help decision makers predict with confidence and seize possibilities ahead of competitors.”

This year’s conference program includes five keynotes, 21 papers on three tracks, SAS® Analytics demos, and sponsor booths in the exhibition hall. Keynotes will be presented by Bart Baesens of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and University of Southampton (UK); Radhika Kulkarni, Vice President of Advanced Analytics R&D at SAS (US); Sven F. Crone of the Lancaster University Management School and Lancaster Research Centre for Forecasting (UK); Kim Larsen of Charles Schwab & Co. (US); and Dag Roll-Hansen and Kristian Lønø of Statistics Norway.

“Analytics peers get few opportunities to talk through their challenges and successes with each other,” said Kerem Tezic, Statistician at AFA Insurance. “Last year, I presented how we reduced workplace injuries and reduced administration costs by increasing the quality of analyses. A2010 provides a rare opportunity to learn from each other. This open exchange is raising the level of analytics expertise in individual organizations and throughout the world.”

"I really enjoyed this conference,” said Ebru Umut Deniz of Vodafone Turkey. “It provided an opportunity for me to improve my knowledge about forecasting and the capabilities of SAS.”
