Community Aid Relief And Development (CoAid) Secures $10,000 Google Grant

Community Aid Relief and Development (CoAid) is awarded $10,000 advertising grant from Google to promote their humanitarian projects.

LITTLETON, CO July 12th 2010 – Community Aid Relief and Development announced today they have been awarded a $10,000 advertising grant from Google to promote their projects amongst communities affected by war and natural disaster.

“This grant will really help us in our important humanitarian work,” said Steve Neill, President of CoAid. “We applied for the one of the coveted Google AdWords grants last year, and even though it was a lengthy process, we’re excited to have finally been awarded this boost to our marketing strategy.”

CoAid recently updated their web site using some money they won last year from an online promotion run by Chase bank on Facebook. They now hope to use the AdWords grant from Google to attract new web site visitors to support their cause.

“We’re excited to make the best use of these grants to serve poor and vulnerable communities around the world,” said Neill. “For example, with AdWords we hope to find new donors to fund the training of people in Haiti to rebuild their shattered nation. It’s been 6 months to the day since the devastating earthquake and the needs are still immense. Wherever we work, the need to provide quality training to nationals is vital to our long-term development strategy.”

CoAid, a relatively new relief and development organization have relied heavily on the Internet to spread their mission and values.

“CoAid is all about giving a hand-up rather than hand-outs,” said Neill. “To promote this philosophy we’re leveraging the low cost of using the web to strengthen our brand and create awareness of our mission to make a real difference in the world. It appears to be working.”
