Combining Enterprise Endpoint Security and MDM to Help Enterprises Secure and Manage Their Mobile Apps and Workforce

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - McAfee, Inc. (NYSE:MFE) today announced availability for its Trust Digital® enterprise mobility management (EMM®) platform for devices running iOS 4, Apple’s newest mobile operating system, providing a seamless upgrade path for existing Trust Digital EMM customers. McAfee also announced the Trust Digital platform will be delivering Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities. McAfee announced the close of its Trust Digital acquisition on June 3.

“McAfee has witnessed a shift in an enterprise’s view of mobility. It’s not just about mobile email anymore – for enterprises it is now about mobile apps and the challenge to secure them and the corporate data those apps are accessing,” said Todd Gebhart, executive vice president and general manager, consumer, mobile and small business. “The Trust Digital EMM product and the support of MDM capabilities for iOS 4 addresses that challenge today. Already we are leading the industry with a product and road map that offers enterprise-grade security and manageability.”

The launch of Apple’s iOS 4 release provides the ability for enterprises to better deploy and manage large fleets of iPhones. This most recent release by Apple also provides the granular control of both device and mobile apps that eliminate the need for clumsy, email-centric “sandbox” approaches that only protect email and calendar data and fail to match Apple’s native user experience.

The McAfee Trust Digital EMM will today support devices upgraded to iOS 4, which will also be available as an upgrade to existing EMM customers. The EMM suite includes features such as transparent configuring and updating of device settings, as well as monitoring and enforcing compliance of corporate policies such as blocking modified devices, enforcing device encryption and providing wiping/locking capabilities. In addition, EMM enables device management capabilities for administering McAfee Trust Digital managed iPhone devices that automate the connection of iPhones and other smartphone devices to enterprise services such as WiFi, VPN and email.
