Dynamic DUI Duo Just Doing Their Job?
Dupage County, Illinois - Local DUI Attorney Peter Buh commented Monday on the award results issued this year by Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists. According to the organization, which is an activist group that awards police officers for record numbers of DUI arrests, two Springfield Police officers combined for 266 DUI arrests last year, taking home an award for tops in DUI arrests.
“Over 260 DUI arrests in one year from just two officers in a department with 396 DUI arrests in total seems a little out of proportion. The Springfield Police Department has a total of 270 officers. There must be a reason why this is so disproportionate,” Attorney Buh stated. “It should raise some eyebrows. Here you have two cops obtaining nearly 70% of the department’s total DUI arrests. Either the two individuals are targeting motorists or the other 268 sworn officers aren’t doing their jobs. I doubt it’s the latter.”
