WEBWIRE

3/30/2006, Net Insight has received an order for building the first phase of a national digital terrestrial TV network (DVB-T) in a central European country. The network will be used to transport digital terrestrial TV streams in parallel with contribution streams.

The network will be built with Net Insight´s Nimbra platform, especially well suited for DVB-T networks. The equipment will be delivered in the first quarter 2006.

With digital terrestrial TV, the signals are transmitted from terrestrial masts to digital TV receivers in the households. Among the benefits are lower operational costs, a higher picture quality and the possibility to transmit up to four times more TV channels on the same frequency range.

The market for DVB-T is growing rapidly and more than 50 countries in Europe and Asia are switching from analogue terrestrial TV to digital terrestrial TV in the coming years.

“Net Insight is gaining momentum in the DVB-T segment. We have already delivered equipment for DVB-T networks in Denmark, Finland and Germany and this new order further confirms that Net Insight offers a very efficient and reliable solution”, said Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight.
