Montoya to be honored on Father’s Day at Infineon Raceway

CONCORD, N.C. - Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates announced today driver Juan Pablo Montoya will receive the National Fatherhood Initiative Award for successfully balancing his busy racing career with the needs of his children and family. The award presentation will take place on Sunday, June 20 during the prerace festivities at Infineon Raceway.

MONTOYA FAMILY BACKGROUND: Juan Pablo Montoya and wife Connie have been married for eight years and reside in Miami. Together they have two children, Sebastian age 5, and Paulina age 3. The Montoya’s are also expecting their third child, a baby boy, in mid-July. When not in his No. 42 Target Chevrolet, he spends as much time as possible with his family on vacation, in the motorhome at the race track, and even makes it a habit to take his son, Sebastian to school every time he is back home.

NASCAR DRIVERS HONORED: Montoya was featured in a “Dads of NASCAR” piece on the cover of USA Weekend prior to the 2010 Daytona 500. The feature displayed his active family involvement both at and away from the racetrack.
