"Valor Conference" Honoring the Spouses of Deployed Soldiers to be Held at the Omni San Antonio at the Colonnade

San Antonio, TX -- As troops prepare to deploy overseas, the families they leave behind must also prepare for an attack on the home front – uncertainty, loneliness, fear, increased responsibilities -- all leading to added stress.

On Sunday, July 25th, 2010, the Valor Conference will be held at the Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade. This will be complimentary event for all spouses of deployed soldiers, sailors and airmen. The event will consist of a morning worship service followed by a luncheon with a speaker. A message of valor, strength and encouragement will be presented to honor the spouses stationed throughout Central Texas. This conference has been created to demonstrate to them they are not alone as they go through their own stateside deployment.

Carol Pipes, editor of the On Mission magazine will be the worship speaker. She recently met with the military chaplains in Iraq who minister to the troops in the field. The afternoon speaker will be Carla O’Dell, “military brat” and pastor’s wife of Rocky Cove Church.

Complimentary to attendees, the program will be funded through sponsorships, including: (1) sponsorship of a table of ten people, $250, (2) sponsorship of a meal, $25. This event is also co-sponsored by the Omni San Antonio Hotel and Rocky Cove Church.
