Spill 911, Inc. announces Hard Oil Containment Booms

(WESTFIELD, IN) — Spill 911 is excited to introduce our full line of Hard Oil Containment Booms. These Containment Booms are designed for emergency or long-term deployment to contain petroleum products, debris and other floating material. Hard Booms are constructed for repeat deployments. Boom sections can be joined together to provide for longer lengths.

Bantam Oil Containment Boom

These booms can be easily carried by responders to remote areas, perfect for shallow streams and creeks, and easily deployed. Their overall height is 8“ (3” diameter solid polyethylene flotation, 5“ draft skirt), and they are made with a 22-oz. PVC-coated polyester fabric. These booms also feature a 3/16” hot-dipped galvanized proof coil chain, come in a standard international orange color and come equipped with standard slotted tube connectors. Optional bags for the Bantam Booms are also available.

Basin Oil Containment Boom

This boom is perfect for marinas and fueling facilities. One or two people can rapidly deploy the Basin Oil Containment Boom. The bottom-tensioned curtain boom is designed for quiet waters, holding ponds and settling basins. Their overall height is 12“ (4” diameter solid polyethylene flotation, 8“ draft skirt) and are made with a 22 oz. PVC coated polyester fabric. Additional features include a 1/4” galvanized proof coil chain ballast and standard lightweight universal connectors. These booms come in a standard international orange color.

Bay Duty Oil Containment Boom

The Bay Duty Boom is ideal where an oil boom is repeatedly deployed and subject to frequent abrasion and weathering. Designed for durability and ease of use, these booms handle well in light currents and protected waters. The Bay Duty Oil Boom is the most popular choice among spill cleanup booms. Their overall height is 18“ (6” diameter molded solid polypropylene flotation, 12“ draft skirt), and also feature a 5/16” hot dipped galvanized proof coil chain ballast, standard international orange color and standard lightweight universal connectors. These booms are also available with a top and bottom tension cable attached to the boom to help achieve greater stability for repeated deployment around ships, barges and facilities in an open-harbor environment.
