TestAmerica’s Air Program Expert Invited to Speak at Society of Texas Environmental Professionals Chapter Meeting

WEBWIRE

William Elcoate, TestAmerica’s Air Product Manager and recognized industry expert, has been invited by the Society of Texas Environmental Professionals (STEP) to speak on the challenges of collecting and analyzing low level volatile compounds in ambient air and vapor intrusion site investigations. Hosted by STEP’s Dallas Chapter, the presentation will be given on June 8, 2010 in Richardson, TX.

Mr. Elcoate will review and discuss some key considerations when sampling and analyzing for the presence of low level volatile compounds of concern in ambient, indoor air, soil and source vapor samples. As the potential from the inhalation exposure pathway is significantly more complex, understanding the quality challenges associated with collection of data is critical. Sample and test method selection, field sampling protocols, and collection of relevant data are essential in the evaluation of the potential risks posed by inhalation exposure. Mr. Elcoate will also address the importance of planning and defining data quality objectives for the data collected.

TestAmerica plays an active role with the Society of Texas Environmental Professionals. The non-profit organization was created to serve the needs of the industrial and agricultural sectors of commerce within the State of Texas, specifically with environmentally related requirements and concerns.
