CATLab™ Accredited Calibration Services - Builds New Virginia Laboratory
Less than four years after first expanding into Virginia, CATLab™ Accredited Calibration Services has built a new, larger facility in New Kent County, VA. This new facility includes two state-of-the-art laboratories along with maintenance and meeting facilities and is conveniently located at Interstate 64 just east of Richmond’s I-295 beltway.
CATLab™ Accredited Calibration Services is the laboratory division of Control Automation Technologies (CATC). Its North Carolina and Virginia Laboratories provide calibration and repair services of most test equipment used by instrument, electrical and quality control technicians. CATC opened its first Virginia lab in August of 2006 in Roxbury, Virginia and rapidly outgrew its capacity.
“Even in this challenging economy, we’ve been fortunate to expand our customer base, doubling our business in the last three years. We built the New Kent facility to support this additional work, add employees and expand our service capabilities”, said Mike Watson, Virginia native and CATC President.
CATC was founded in 1989 and provided instrumentation project support and calibration services for customers on four continents before building its laboratory division in 1999. It spun off the field service group in 2007 to focus on expanding the NC & VA laboratories, both of which are accredited through the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation. Today it supports hundreds of commercial and industrial customers throughout the US and abroad.
