* Deutsche Telekom leading the way in cloud computing for SMEs and corporate customers
* Only provider with own network and guaranteed delivery quality
* Complete cloud portfolio – from Software as a Service through to Private Clouds

The Experton Group rates Deutsche Telekom’s cloud computing services as a market leader in Germany. “Cloud Vendor Benchmark 2010,” a first-time study by the international analyst firm, considers Deutsche Telekom to be a leader for small and medium-sized enterprises. T-Systems, the Group’s subsidiary, was listed as a leader for corporate customers and for solutions using networks with restricted access (private cloud) and networks with partially-restricted access (hybrid cloud). In its study, Experton underscored Deutsche Telekom’s locational advantage in Germany in particular. According to the study, Deutsche Telekom can offer cloud computing across Germany on the basis of their high-security data centers. In addition, it is the only company to offer its own network and guarantee delivery quality.

In its study, Experton compares the cloud services of IT service providers in Germany and rates them based on strategic, technological and product-related criteria by target segment.

In the small-enterprise segment, Experton rates the attractiveness of the Deutsche Telekom portfolio very positively. The services “cover almost all the requirements of an average small enterprise. The main focus is on SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions in the areas of collaboration, customer relationship management (CRM) and eCommerce, as well as on IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). Deutsche Telekom also offers telecommunications services from the Net.”

For medium-sized enterprises with between 100 and 1,000 PCs, Deutsche Telekom’s IaaS and SaaS offerings fulfill the key requirements. Experton in particular highlighted the Dynamic Server and Dynamic Infrastructure Services solutions. According to the study, customers used these services to purchase computing power and storage capacity on a largely flexible basis and for a wide range of usage scenarios.

Dynamic Services also form the core of T-Systems’ cloud services for the corporate customer segment. Customers benefit from usage-related billing as in that used for the operation of their SAP and Microsoft CRM systems, as well as from lower resource consumption per transaction. “The portfolio is extremely attractive due to synergies within the Deutsche Telekom Group, as well as as a result of its telecommunications and network management expertise,” said the Experton study. In addition, it said that T-Systems offered the necessary connection and network capacities via its own high-security networks. In this way, it were possible to guarantee end-to-end availability, “which is particularly crucial to the success of cloud-operated business-critical applications.”
