All Freelance Writing Launches Writers’ Market Directory, New Free Online Tools for Writers

WEBWIRE

Philadelphia, PA -- May 12, 2010 -- Freelance writing blog, All Freelance Writing (http://AllFreelanceWriting.com), recently released a variety of free tools and resources for freelance writers including a writers’ market directory and e-book sales conversion calculator.

“This blog is about helping professional writers build better careers, and providing tools to help them do that,” said All Freelance Writing Founder, Jennifer Mattern. “New writer freebies are released monthly, and that is expected to continue throughout this year.”

All free tools and resources for writers found on All Freelance Writing are exclusively available through the blog and Mattern’s other sites -- they’re not aggregated lists of things released elsewhere. Each is designed, developed, or purchased specifically to meet the needs of the freelance writing community. Recent free tools and resources released at All Freelance Writing include:

Writers’ Market Directory

The writers’ market directory features a growing, browseable, searchable list of print and online writers’ markets that are open to freelance queries and submissions. The writers’ market directory can be found at http://allfreelancewriting.com/writers-markets/ or through a link in the gray navigation bar at the top of the page.

E-book Sales Conversion Calculator

This latest free online tool is a calculator for freelance writers who write and sell e-books as a residual income stream. It allows them to calculate current conversion rates for their landing page or choose a target conversion rate and calculate the number of sales they need to make to reach that target. The e-book sales conversion calculator can be accessed at http://allfreelancewriting.com/e-book-sales-conversion-calculator/ or on the blog’s Freebies page.

JBlog Free Wordpress Theme

This is the latest addition to All Freelance Writing’s collection of free Wordpress themes for writers, designed to help them set up blogs or professional websites on the Wordpress platform. Unlike most free Wordpress themes, All Freelance Writing does not require credit links when the themes are used. The JBlog theme features a new designer for the theme collection.

Writer’s Beat Audio Series from Freelance Theater

Freelance Theater (the audio play series from Mattern and All Freelance Writing contributor, Yolander Prinzel) merged with All Freelance Writing, and a new Beat poetry series from Prinzel launched this month.

SWOT Analysis Worksheet for Freelance Writers

This latest addition to the blog’s collection of free templates and forms for professional writers features an example SWOT analysis and blank SWOT analysis worksheet tailored to helping writers with their market planning.

In addition to the free tools and resources launched in May, Mattern announced the start of a screenplay-writing project where she will conduct an interview series with produced screenwriter, Xandy Sussan. Mattern will let readers follow along in the screenplay-writing process as she tackles her first screenplay. This is a follow-up to the novel outlining and drafting projects previously run through the site.

Mattern also launched a coaching experiment on the site with an offer to take one freelance writer stuck in content mill work under her wing to work one-on-one with them to build a better career and reach their goals. Within just two weeks of beginning the coaching, the chosen writer was able to fully replace their average monthly content mill earnings (and see a 50% increase). Coaching updates are shared on the blog every Friday.

All Freelance Writing also recently launched a Freelance Fitness series, covering at-home exercise ideas and easy recipes to help the work at home audience stay healthier, brought in Dan Smith to resume the DIY project series, and added Catherine L. Tully to the contributor list covering issues related to freelance writing for print publications.

“Releasing free tools and resources for writers is nothing new at All Freelance Writing, and this is far from the end,” said Mattern. “Over the next several months we’ll continue to roll out free online tools, forms and templates, expand the writers’ market directory, launch a virtual book club for freelance writers and authors, launch a new podcast series, add a comic strip and later an animated cartoon series called ’Freelance Fail,’ and release one or two new e-books for freelance writers.”

The full collection of writer freebies can be found at http://allfreelancewriting.com/free-stuff-for-writers/ or the “free stuff” link at the top of the blog.
