TORONTO - Visitors to Nortel* [OTC: NRTLQ] Carrier VoIP and Application Solutions’ (CVAS) booth #711 at the 2010 Cable Show will see Nortel CVAS’ state-of-the-art solutions that equip cable operators to increase revenue and subscriber loyalty through the delivery of advanced VoIP, multimedia and mobility services to residential and business subscribers.

Hosted by the National Cable & Telecommunication Association (NCTA), the event occurs May 11-13 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. The event brings together creative visionaries and technology leaders to showcase the latest advances in content delivery, programming and a new world of personal, portable content.

* Hosted IP Communication Solutions for SMBs and Large Enterprises that equip MSOs with the ability to deliver communication services such as Unified Communications (UC), Call Center and Mobility applications that boost business productivity, collaboration and customer service. Nortel CVAS will demonstrate a new web UC collaboration application that lets users share video, documents, web pages, and whiteboard in real-time; an advanced fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) application that turns any mobile phone into an office extension; and other web applications like a new IVR click-to-call solution.
* IP Consumer Voice, Multimedia & Mobility Solutions that arm MSOs to compete with traditional telcos and ’over-the-top’ Internet providers by offering a plethora of IP applications to users. Nortel CVAS will show live cable VoIP demonstrations of web mashups and soft clients using PCs, mobile phones and new devices such as the iPad™. Nortel CVAS will also show FMC applications and Web Services that give users seamless service from any location or device (PC, TV or mobile).
* Advanced Softswitching Platform and Services that help MSOs improve revenue potential and decrease total cost of ownership by deploying advanced IP communications to subscribers. Nortel CVAS experts will show the latest enhancements to its industry-leading CS 2000 softswitch that offers geo-redundancy, more capacity in smaller footprint, significant power savings and the ability to handle peak call periods more effectively by supporting call densities of up to 5 Million Busy Hour Call Attempts (BHCA). Nortel CVAS will also demonstrate ways that cable providers can implement and optimize network performance and improve network manageability.
* IP Multimedia Interconnect and Trunking Solutions includes a set of application bundles to facilitate Inter and Intra-Carrier IP Interconnect (IPX) that help MSOs increase revenue and reduce churn by extending their reach around the globe. Nortel CVAS will provide an overview of the solution and the various applications carriers can offer other carriers (as an IPX provider) and/or subscribers.



2010 Cable Show attendees are also invited to stop-by the Nortel CVAS booth (#711) to participate in a study that will help uncover some of the hottest trends and end user communication preferences in the industry.
