The Mutual Fund Site Reaffirms Its Picks for 2010

WEBWIRE

The Mutual Fund Site (www.MutualFundSite.org) reaffirmed today its two specialty Top Picks for 2010. The Site’s Income Class pick, Janus High Yield Fund, was a high yield choice that has returned 5.27% year-to-date. The Site’s Equity Class pick, the Ivy Small Cap Value Fund, has returned more than 14.75% on a year-to-date basis.

“While both funds have lost their 5-star Morningstar ratings, we continue to believe that their respective fund managers continue to invest wisely,” advises Chris Blanchet, the Fund Advisor for the Mutual Fund Site.

Mr. Blanchet expects Janus will continue to manage a well diversified portfolio of below investment grade bonds in companies with strong prospects. The fund currently reports an annual yield of more than 10%.

As for the Ivy Small Cap Value Fund, Mr. Blanchet reiterated the Site’s bullishness for small cap financial services firms. “We believe that fundamentally, these smaller firms that Ivy holds are extremely well positioned [to profit from a] recovering economy.” The fund counts East West Bancorp and Iberiabank among its top holdings, both of which offer “decent dividends.”

Both funds are ranked below-average risk and low-risk respectively by Morningstar, which “we find particularly appealing.”
