Maryland Hyundai Dealer Customer Loyalty is Up; Preston Hyundai Sees Increase in Hyundai Buyers
It has been over a month now that Hyundai Motor Company has surpassed both Toyota and Honda in Kelly Blue Book’s ranking to become No. 1 in customer loyalty. Through the months of March and April sales have steadily increased in Maryland and Delaware for the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata and 2010 Hyundai Tucson. By the end of April it is estimated that there will be more new 2010 Hyundai Tucsons sold then in 2009 combined (15,411 Tucson were sold in 2009).
Right now is the best position that Hyundai has ever been. Last year alone when the automotive market was down 21%, Hyundai alone raised a total of 8% in sales and is up 17% so far in 2010. In another study done by Kelly Blue Book, Hyundai owners looking online at new Hyundai cars and trucks in Maryland and Delaware had surged 10.4% to 56.3% in February. A month later the number are steadily increasing. It was said that Hyundai is benefiting from a “Perfect Storm” by Kelly Blue Book. While Hyundai released new Sonata and Tucson models, Honda’s CRV and Accord are a bit stale and Toyota is facing brand image issues.
Today Toyota has tried to lure buyers with aggressive incentives after their turmoil with recalls. The most recent is with the Lexus GX 460. Maryland Hyundai and Delaware Hyundai dealers are not scared of this however. “Hyundai has put out some really aggressive deals as well,” says John Skalstad of Maryland and Delaware Hyundai Dealer, Preston Hyundai, “Right now we are offering a $199 36 month lease on new 2011 Sonatas, and have a $239 36 month lease on 2010 Hyundai Tucson. Toyota cant come close to the value that Hyundai puts into their vehicles at this price.”
