Fight For The Right of Sight: VonZipper Eyewear Launches Charity For Clarity

Irvine, CA, April 7, 2010—VonZipper Eyewear celebrates their 10 Year Anniversary and the official launch of their 2010 Optical Collection—which debuted to buyers and media at the VEE Show in New York—with a new quest to give back by giving the gift of sight to those in need. In partnership with Physicians for Peace, VonZipper will use the One for One model to donate one optical frame for every optical frame sold from their collection.

VonZipper’s 2010 Optical Collection is aimed at the optical and boutique specialty market and is priced to be accessible to many consumers. Styles range from: geek chic contemporary looks juxtaposed with renegade sheik/Royal Tannenbaumesque fashion-forward frames and more. With no stone left unturned, the new optical line calls all Retina Revolutionaries to join VZ and Physicians for Peace in the fight to help those who need it most.

“Ninety percent of the world’s blind people live in developing countries,” said Ron Sconyers, President and CEO of Physicians for Peace. “Most of these cases are treatable or preventable through the simple gift of a pair of glasses. Through our new partnership with VonZipper, our Seeing Clearly program will certainly ramp up the amount of patients we are able to reach, providing them with the opportunity to live full, productive lives.”

Physicians for Peace goes above the call of duty in more than 20 developing countries such as Philippines, Honduras and Haiti; where they implement their Seeing Clearly program. The program provides access to quality eye care services and surgical care to reduce the high incidence of preventable blindness. With VonZipper’s donations Physicians for Peace is able to provide prescription glasses to children and adults in underprivileged communities.
