Wide Format Printing Equipment, Wide Format Media, Solvent and UV Digital Inks, Workflow and Color Management Software Offers Sign Shops Compete Portfolio of Solutions

Valhalla, NY, March 24, 2010 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced it will display a full portfolio of wide format printing solutions for sign industry professionals at the ISA International Sign Expo 2010 in Orlando, Florida April 8-10 at booth # 2560. Fujifilm will be on site to demonstrate a comprehensive line-up of wide format printers, inks and print media as well as dynamic workflow software and color management tools for optimal output. The show will highlight Fujifilm’s commitment to the sign and display graphics industries through its high quality products and customizable configurations that put sign printers in control.

“With our Graphics Systems Division and Sericol Unit coming together at ISA this year, we believe Fujifilm is even better equipped to help strengthen our relationships and offer all the top quality products our sign customers need to be successful – from equipment and workflow software to media and inks in addition to a full service technical support division that we feel can’t be matched in the industry,” said Masahiro “Sam” Ota, division president, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “Our impressive portfolio offers options that can be specifically configured to meet the individual needs of sign and display graphic print shops. We truly see ourselves as a one-stop shop and we believe our full array of products will offer cost-saving solutions that will help our customers grow their businesses and drive them into the future.”

“We are looking forward to working with print professionals at ISA to offer them new ideas that will help build their businesses,” said Mitch Bode, general manager, Graphics Systems Division – Sericol Unit, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. The new Acuity Advance HS UV flatbed printer paired with Fujifilm Sericol Uvijet ink, Fujifilm media and ColorGate RIP solution offers sign and display graphic print shops the flexibility to do more for their current customers, attract new customers, and generate more revenue.”

Flatbed and Roll Printing Equipment
The recently announced Acuity Advance HS UV flatbed printer will make its ISA debut this year. The impressive print speed of the Acuity Advance HS, 430 square feet per hour, offers photographic print quality and powerhouse performance that was previously found only with much more expensive printers. The Acuity Advance HS is specifically designed for print applications that require fine detail and high resolution imaging and is available with a roll media option, making it an ideal solution for printing on a variety of flexible materials. Enhancing the print performance of the Acuity Advance HS are ColorGATE, and Sericol’s uniquely formulated Uvijet inks. Uvijet’s Micro-V dispersion technology delivers wide adhesion, vibrancy and durability in every print. The Acuity Advance HS UV flatbed printer will run throughout the show at Fujifilm’s booth.

Fujifilm will also display the ESKO Kongsberg i-cut® XL24 this year at ISA 2010. The Kongsberg i-cut® offers knife cutting, creasing and routing on a variety of media types. With a multitude of cutting tools – kiss-cut, single and double edge, oscillating, crease and ball point pen tools – the i-cut® makes virtually any digital imaging possible for print shops. The easy-to-use software helps reduce mistakes, wasted materials and labor intensity while offering accuracy and precision over long or short print runs. Compatible with many RIPs, including ColorGATE, i-cut® software enables easy integration into an existing production environment

The UVISTAR roll printer will also be featured on the ISA show floor. The UVISTAR, designed to print both POP and billboard quality, can produce output at impressive speeds of up to 3,800 square feet per hour. Capable of producing work on up to three rolls at a time, the UVISTAR increases productivity, efficiency and helps reduce costs. UVISTAR offers the flexibility of media that can be printed free-fall or roll-to-roll. Even rigid media can be used with UVISTAR’s flatbed option. The UVISTAR series is available in 3.5 m and 5 m configurations that can produce high-quality output on a range of diverse media: flex, mesh, backlit, flag, polyethylene and more.

Another roll printer, the Mutoh ValueJet 1618-64” dual-headed, 8-channel printer, will also be displayed during ISA 2010. Printing at speeds of up to 480 square feet per hour, the ValueJet 1618-64” jets ink in waves rather than traditional straight lines, increasing speed and virtually eliminating banding. The ValueJet 1618-64” is also equipped with the convenience of a built-in drying system that includes individually controlled pre, platen and post heaters.

Fujifilm will also showcase the Epson Stylus® Pro GS6000 during the show. This 64” roll-to-roll printer offers an Eco Solvent-based ink technology that eliminates the need for external dryers and air purification systems. The GS6000 has the ability to print high quality photo-like output with an extremely large color gamut with the addition of green and orange ink. A robust media take-up reel enables unattended production of large print runs.

Wide Format Media
Fujifilm will have a hands-on workshop showcasing its expansive line-up of wide format media at ISA 2010. Sign professionals will be able to work directly with a variety of media including banner selections, premium papers, adhesive backed vinyl, backlit media, canvas, wall and floor graphic media, and perforated window film. All of the media is designed for use on flatbed and roll print equipment and is the prefect complement to Fujifilm’s printer and ink solutions and offers sign printers innovative ways to produce indoor and outdoor signage for virtually any application.

Software Solutions
Fujifilm will demonstrate three software components at ISA this year. First is Fujifilm’s Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified, which monitors the performance of all color equipment in the workroom and ensures that printers achieve consistent color output from different devices. The solution’s monitoring functionality equips printers with real-time help, support and communication to quickly resolve issues, avert downtime and minimize wasted consumables. Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified tracks the functionality of all onsite equipment, consumable consumption and color integrity to optimize performance across all color devices in the workroom, and can be customized to each individual shop owner’s configurations when configured with a web-based anytime/anywhere monitoring solution. Backed by Fujiflm’s Print Performance Team, customers are alerted when a device is operating below established standards.

Also on display this year at ISA will be ColorGATE PRODUCTIONSERVER6 Software, which is compatible with Fujifilm’s complete portfolio of wide format printers. With ColorGATE, printers are able to use one RIP and one color management system across all of the devices in their shop, allowing them to achieve predictable results and consistent color. The quality assurance and quality control tools make ColorGATE the ideal choice for those customers interested in implementing G7, running to SWOP, GRACoL or simply matching a job from six months ago. ColorGATE allows for color consistency between various inkjet devices, and features an optimized workflow when printing with white including underprint, overprint, selective, spot, filling and pixel underprint. ColorGATE can be viewed in action when it powers the Acuity Advance HS UV Flatbed Printer, UVISTAR, Mutoh ValueJet 1618-64”, and Epson Stylus® Pro GS6000 on the ISA show floor.

Finally, Fujifilm will showcase HumanEyes Producer 3D, an end-to-end solution that covers the entire workflow of lenticular image production from lenticular content creation to interlace and pre-press. The software makes it easy to create and print lenticular printed projects with special effects including 3D, flip, zoom and motion. HumanEyes offers the first prepress features that simplify the lenticular pre-print process to greatly improve productivity and provide superior quality.

Demonstrations of each of Fujifilm’s printers and software solutions will run daily on the showroom floor at Booth # 2560. To learn more about Fujifilm’s complete portfolio of print room products, visit www.fujifilmusa.com.
