After a competitive pitch Ogilvy wins Sony’s Electronics Portfolio in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY — Ogilvy & Mather announced today that Sony Vietnam Ltd. has awarded them their business in a competitive pitch against incumbent, Leo Burnett, Dentsu Alpha and Lowe.

Katryna Mojica, Group Managing Director, Ogilvy Vietnam, stated that the client said, upon awarding the agency their business, that the agency was “distinguished from other pitch participants by the creative work, communication plan and category analysis.”

Sony has a strong heritage in Vietnam with their product range including the Bravia (TVs) and the Cyber-shot (cameras) and more recently Play Station PSP, PSP 2 and PSP 3, which launched in January 2010.

Vietnam’s consumer electronics devices market, defined as the addressable computing devices mobile handsets and video, audio and gaming products, is projected to be worth around USD 4.4 billion this year and expected to increase to USD 6.8 billion by 2014, driven by growing affordability of key products. The electronics device market is forecast to grow at an overall compound annual growth rate of 13 percent through to 2014.
