Gearhouse Broadcast Invests in Harris HD Solutions for use at Upcoming 2006 World Cup

CINCINNATI, March 20, 2006 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announced that Gearhouse Broadcast, the leading UK equipment rental, sales, project solutions and systems integration company, placed a substantial order for its high-definition/standard-definition (HD/SD) equipment, including a raft of HD infrastructure products from the 6800+™ series and Videotek® PTM-305 personal test and measurement devices. The equipment was purchased for use at the 2006 Turin Winter Games and for the 2006 World Cup in Germany this coming summer.

“As HD standards have not yet fully evolved in Europe, it is critical that the equipment we buy now is flexible — either already meeting the various standards or with a clear upgrade path,” said Eamonn Dowdall, managing director of Gearhouse Broadcast. “Harris delivers on these requirements by providing infrastructure and test and measurement products that are HD/SD compliant, enabling us to invest now in products that will work as well in the future as they do today. This level of flexibility is important to our clients, who can get used to using the same equipment over time. It is also vital for us as a business, allowing us to properly fund the capital investment.”

A Leitch product customer since 2004, Gearhouse Broadcast has seen an increase in the take-up of HD requirements by broadcasters, spurred on by the high level of demand for content from the U.S. market. The company has a firmly established business in the projects market and is experienced in managing large-scale productions such as the Tennis Masters Series, the 18th Commonwealth Games and the West Asian Games. This summer, Gearhouse Broadcast will serve as a principal partner in providing technical production facilities to the host broadcaster in 12 cities throughout Germany for the 2006 World Cup, the majority of which will be covered in HD.

“We are very excited to continue supporting Gearhouse Broadcast as the company builds up its HD capabilities to meet the requirements of the evolving European broadcast market,” said Dave Dougall, vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Harris Broadcast Communications Division. “We are confident that our latest, multi-format test and measurement and infrastructure solutions will provide the company with outstanding performance in today’s demanding broadcast environment, while ensuring their investment is protected well into the future.”

The 6800+™ series is an exceptional value, high-quality processing platform that provides all core processing and distribution functions in analog, SD, HD and optical formats, offers integrated control and monitoring and is SNMP-friendly. Products are designed with a “core function per module” concept that ensures straightforward system designs with lower costs and higher performance. The battery-powered Videotek® PTM-305 is ideal for monitoring field production camera setup or equipment installation, and for troubleshooting signal path issues related to analog and standard-definition digital formats. Its features include a Video Test Signal Generator, Color Monitor, Waveform/Vector Scope and an Audio Analyzer/Monitor. The user-friendly, intuitive, menu-driven interface is navigated easily on the high-resolution, touch-screen display.
