Nature Publishing Group Implements RSuite as Part of its Content Management Strategy

WEBWIRE

Audubon, PA – February 23, 2010 – Nature Publishing Group (NPG), publisher of Nature and Scientific American, has implemented RSuite, a content management system for publishers. NPG publishes journals, online databases and services across the life, physical, chemical and applied sciences and clinical medicine. NPG needed to replace several legacy production systems while still being able to leverage the investment in some existing tools, including MarkLogic Server. RSuite enabled NPG to accomplish this by facilitating the automation of its workflows. This in turn will enable scalability without additional resource requirements, and allow for a more streamlined production process.

"Nature Publishing Group is a leader in exploring and implementing new technologies. Using RSuite has enabled NPG to automate content production and enable the production of journals with far fewer points of human intervention,” stated Barry Bealer, CEO and Co-Founder at Really Strategies, Inc.

Nature Publishing Group consolidated multiple content-centric solutions and uses RSuite for the posting of live online journal content to the web. During the implementation process, it was recognized that adding multiple journals into the production stream would no longer require additional staff and training.

“Using RSuite to automate content production, as well as maximizing content re-use, equates to improved quality, reduced time to market and reduced cost.” stated Anthony Barrera, Head of Internal Systems Development, Nature Publishing Group. “Using RSuite, an XML-based CMS with powerful workflow and search capabilities, helps maintain nature.com’s position as one of the leading science websites.”
