TestAmerica’s Air Product Manager, William Elcoate, will be participating in a joint session on Indoor Vapor Intrusion at the annual Environmental Challenges and Innovations Conference. The special session will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Houston, Texas.

The Indoor Vapor Intrusion Pathway (IVIP) will be presented in four modules to provide a comprehensive understanding of site investigations. Mr. Elcoate will share the session and his module will provide an overview on analytical testing for ambient, indoor air and soil gas. He will discuss the challenges of sample collection, analysis, and how they may impact data quality.

While Texas has not published rules or guidelines to specifically address the Indoor Vapor Intrusion Pathway, there has been a significant increase in interests for evaluating site investigations. The conference is held by the non-profit organization Texas Association of Environmental Professionals. For more information, please go to www.taep.org.

Mr. Elcoate has over 20 years of experience in the environmental testing industry and is currently a technical and regulatory expert for TestAmerica’s Air Testing Program. He has been actively involved in Vapor Intrusion seminars across the nation.
