Web Designers Raise $3,000 For Haiti
A Firm of Australian Web Designers, www.20DollarBanners.com, Recently Hosted a 48-Hour Fundraising Campaign to Raise Money for the Haiti Earthquake Relief Efforts.
North Adelaide, AUSTRALIA January 27, 2010 – An Australian-based web banner design firm, www.20DollarBanners.com, recently donated $3,000 to the Red Cross’ “Haiti Earthquake Appeal”. The donation follows a 48-hour online campaign that took place between January 17th and 19th.
“I’m extremely pleased with the results”, says Tuan Nguyen, owner of the firm. “Our initial goal was to raise $1,000, but we received so much support from existing and new clients that we were able to triple that amount.”
During the campaign, all profits received for the firm’s web design work, which includes web banners, eCovers and “corner peels”, were donated to the Australian Red Cross. All told, twenty-nine different companies took part in the online fundraising campaign. A full list of all participants, as well as a copy of the official Red Cross donation receipt, has been posted on the firm’s website.
The campaign helps support the victims of the January 12th Haiti earthquake, a catastrophe that has left over 150,000 Haitians dead and an estimated 200,000 homeless. Haitian officials recently estimated that it would take $3 Billion to help reconstruct the country.
