WEBWIRE

15 March 2006, Capita Contact & Document Services, leading UK provider of business support services to the public and private sector, announces the acquisition of Two-Ten Communications, a specialist provider of response management and fulfilment services, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition enhances Capita’s outbound capabilities including the addition of a new call centre as well as item fulfilment and distribution facilities.

Two-Ten Communications, formerly Michael Benn and Associates, was established in 1971. The company was acquired by PA Group and brought under the Two-Ten Communications banner in 1995. Two-Ten Communications specialises in direct marketing activities from item fulfilment and distribution to call centre management. Existing customers of Capita will benefit from these additional services improving both operational scalability and flexibility. The deal will also add value to Two-Tens’ blue chip clients.

Phil Sewards, Business Director of Capita Contact & Document Services, commented: “The acquisition of Two-Ten Communications strengthens our outbound capabilities, expanding our offering in the outsourced document management market. Combined with last year’s acquisition of Micromedia for its inbound capabilities, Two-Ten will bring greater range and depth to our services and is a good cultural, technical and geographical fit with our network of business centres.

“In service orientated operations it is vital that we have highly skilled and experienced employees and we are therefore delighted to welcome the staff of Two-Ten Communications who will transfer to Capita Contact & Document Services.”

All 230 employees will transfer to the new organisation along with its highly experienced management team. The company will be incorporated into Capita Contact & Document Services and the business will continue to operate from its existing site in Wetherby, Yorkshire.

Paul Potts, Chief Executive and Editor-in Chief at PA Group, said: “Two-Ten Communications is a very good business and we have been pleased with its performance over the past decade. However, our focus must be on our strategy of developing a broadly based international information business. The sale of Two-Ten will leave PA with a focused portfolio of businesses and provide funds to allow us to make further acquisitions within our core information business.

“We were impressed with the strength of Capita’s business plan and believe that Two-Ten’s clients will benefit greatly from Capita’s expertise in contact and document service provision. We are also confident that Two-Ten’s employees will continue to grow and develop as part of an established FTSE 100 organisation. We wish everyone at Two-Ten success at Capita"
