Ford Sales Surge at end of 2009; Preston Ford Maryland Delaware Dealer Strives for Top 100

Ford Motor Company recently posted a 33% sales gain this past December. This ended a year in which the Automotive Industry was the worse it has ever been as GM and Chrysler went bankrupt and China (Yes China) is now the world’s largest automotive market. Ford stock has also risen to the highest levels since August of 2005.

These gains were no different in Maryland and Delaware as local Ford Dealer Preston Ford made gains of 56% in December alone and 12% in the year 2009 over 2008. Ford has made a great run for themselves in 2009 as the United States saw their deepest decline in automotive sales since World War II. 2010 is expected to be a “rebound” year for the car industry though it will be slow and steady.

“What we saw in December 2009 that helped boost our sales were the amazing incentives that Ford and other manufactures gave as well as the government tax refund on all new vehicle purchases. Other than that, we believe that we saw the greatest gains in Ford because of their product quality increase.” says Chad Todd, Preston Ford Sales Manager.

Maryland Delaware Preston Ford dealer saw huge gains because of their 100 Top Sales Drive which was Preston’s run to be in the top 100 Ford dealers in the country out of 3300 Ford Dealers. Preston Ford made it to 109th Ford dealer in the nation, a feat which is credited because their location is in the middle of a cornfield. Top models by sales were the 2010 Ford F-150, 2010 Ford Fusion (2010 Motor Trend Car of the Year), and the 2010 Ford Escape and Escape Hybrid.

Ford plans to continue its gaining market share with the release of their 2011 Ford Fiesta, 2010 Ford Fusion, and the new sync system which is to be released this spring. Ford has also captured a larger than normal commercial market because of their 2010 Ford Transit Connect, a European styled cargo van that was brought to the United States in time to ride the “Cash for Clunkers” wave.
