Bids Skyrocket for Rare Beatles Album listed to Sell on eBay
AuctionOddball.com, a website which tracks rare auction items on eBay, is reporting bidding has passed $10,000 on day three of a ten day auction, for a never opened (still sealed in shrink wrap) Beatles “Butcher” Record Album listed to sell on eBay.
The 1966 Beatles “Butcher” (album) cover was used in an early release of “Yesterday and Today”. The album is highly sought by collectors due to a controversial image of John, Paul, Ringo, and George on the albums cover. The controversy surrounding the image led to most albums being recalled, which makes this particular album cover very scarce.
According to James Massey, publisher of WhatSellsBest.com, a website which tracks highest prices paid for top items which sold on eBay. “A sealed (Beatles) “Let It Be”, album sold for $10,099 last November. Because this (“Butcher”) album’s already exceeded that amount in its first few (auction) days, we could see it go a lot higher.”
