Because NAVTEQ® voice data, is developed using local knowledge of street, administrative and destination names, applications utilizing NAVTEQ voice phonemes can increase the functionality of voice-enabled navigation systems by reducing recognition complexities.

NAVTEQ voice-enabled map data includes transcriptions for street names, administrative areas and named places. The data transcriptions can be used with both Automated Speech Recognition or Text-to-Speech technology.

NAVTEQ voice-enabled map data is now available in seven Western Europe countries: Spain, France, Austria, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.
