Verizon Wireless Introduces Field Force Manager - The Latest Must Have Tool for Small Businesses

Mobile Resource Management Tool Provides Cost-Effective Location Based Services

03/13/2006, BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation’s premier provider of wireless products and services, today announced the availability of Field Force Manager, a comprehensive mobile resource management tool that enhances information and process flow between field workers and the office. By using a Location Based Services-enabled (LBS) handset, a handset application, and a Web portal, Field Force Manager is perfect for small and medium-sized businesses that require a simple, out-of-the-box solution to help streamline field operations.

The Field Force Manager Web-based application allows the business office to map the location of field workers, jobs and other activities in near real-time, schedule and dispatch jobs and receive fleet, job and worker reports. Additionally, the application allows field workers to submit timecards, as well as customer and job data back to the business office and get turn-by-turn driving directions to new jobs right from their wireless device.

“Small and medium-sized businesses are increasingly relying on wireless solutions to help meet their needs outside of the office,” said Jim Straight, vice president of wireless Internet and multimedia for Verizon Wireless. “Field Force Manager can help businesses be more efficient and cost effective by delivering an easy-to-use solution designed to reduce downtime and streamline billing processes. All this, plus the ability to make calls on the nation’s most reliable wireless network, will give our business customers a solution that will help generate an almost immediate return on their investment.”

The launch of the Verizon Wireless Field Force Manager solution is part of Verizon Wireless’ suite of advanced offerings for business customers. The solution is ideal for customers in vertical markets with mobile workers including the services and repair, distribution, transportation, construction, health care and utilities & telecom industries.

Field Force Manager is available from Verizon Wireless in two packages: Basic for $29.99 that includes worker location and tracking, simple job dispatch, and text-based driving directions; and Advanced for $49.99, which includes all the Basic features plus workflow management and audible turn-by-turn driving directions. Both packages include the handset application and Web portal access, deployment assistance, customer training, and unlimited data transport. Customers must also have a Verizon Wireless calling plan.
