TIAA-CREF Wins 13 Best-in-Class Awards from PlanSponsor Magazine Survey
TIAA-CREF, the leading retirement system for people who work in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields, received 13 Best-in-Class Awards for participant and plan sponsor services, according to a survey by PlanSponsor magazine.
TIAA-CREF was cited in categories including retirement services, educational programs, communications materials, and enrollment assistance for participants, and plan sponsor services such as Form 5500 accuracy, responsiveness and regulatory updates.
Many of the best-in-class awards for TIAA-CREF were clustered around “mega” clients, or those with $1 billion or more in client assets.

PlanSponsor conducted the survey between late June and late August 2009 by sending out approximately 35,000 survey questionnaires to defined contribution plan sponsors. Awards were given to the top quartile in each category. The awards reflect service levels, not the performance of TIAA-CREF investment or insurance products.
